A Deptford man was confronted by a paedophile hunter group after sending sexual messages to decoy accounts.
Michael Godman, 42, of New Butt Lane, was apprehended on April 1 having spent weeks messaging girls he believed to be 13 and 14.
Godman pleaded guilty to one count of attempting to incite a child into sexual activity and three counts of attempting to engage in sexual communication with a child.
The messages were sent between March 13 and April 1 during which Godman tried to encourage one girl to perform a sex act.
He appeared at Woolwich Crown Court for sentencing on Wednesday (June 5).
The sentencing was adjourned as there was no prosecutor and Godman did not have a lawyer.
Judge Ruth Downing warned him that he should get a lawyer before the next hearing.
“You need to deal with this formally, seriously and the way that’s the best possible. Don’t just say it will be fine, because this is not that type of case.”
