Greenwich Park is an iconic landmark of south east London, being a popular spot for locals and tourists alike - especially now the sun is shining.
There is endless grass for people to settle down and picnic or sunbathe on and trees everywhere for people who prefer the shade.
But, there are so many other gems that set it apart from any other park in London.
Royal Greenwich Observatory
The Royal Observatory of Greenwich can be found in Greenwich Park and is a great museum with lots to do.
It has been standing for centuries and is home to one of the UK’s largest telescopes.
There is also a planetarium and lots of live science demonstrations for adults and children alike to enjoy.
The observatory is also home to a view point, showing visitors a breath-taking view of the park.
Greenwich Park Playground
Found near the edge of the park, this playground has been in place since the 1940s.
The playground sees more than 400,000 visitors each year and is suitable for children up to aged 12.
Some of its play equipment includes a basket swing, a roundabout, sand and water.
National Maritime Museum
The National Maritime Museum can be found near one of the entrances to Greenwich Park and is a favourite of families and visitors of the park.
There are lots of galleries and exhibitions visitors can find here and it even has an outdoor playground for children to explore.
A popular way to mark your visit is to take a photo next to the massive message in a bottle outside the museum.
Bridgerton filming locations
Bridgerton is one of the most popular TV shows on Netflix and you may not know that there are multiple filming locations in Greenwich.
There is the Rose Garden which was used for Bridgerton filming which is right next to Rangers House, also known as the Bridgerton family home.
At the other end of the park is Queen’s House, which is used as the setting for one of the many grand balls in the series.
Boating
You can boat in Greenwich park from April all the way through to October.
Renting a boat is a fun, romantic way to spend the day and see the park all wrapped into one.
Tennis Courts
Not far from Rangers House, you may stumble across some tennis courts.
If you are looking to enjoy some exercise and take in the beautiful setting then this is a great way to spend your weekend.
