A huge new M&S foodhall is opening in Sidcup this June.

Marks & Spencer have announced that their new foodhall in Sidcup will open its doors to customers on June 19.

The 7,200 sq ft store will offer a market-style shopping experiene featuring a variety of fresh fruit and vegetables sourced from M&S' Select Farm partners.

On top of that, a 16ft in-store bakery will be providing freshly baked bread, cakes, and pastries throughout the day.

The Sidcup foodhall, one of nine new M&S Foodhalls set to open across the UK this financial year, forms part of a more than £30million investment by the retail giant in its stores across London.

The Sidcup foodhall also features a dedicated Flower Shop and Wine Shop.

Store Manager Karen Black said: "We are really excited to announce that the new M&S Sidcup foodhall will open on June 19th.

"I can’t wait to open the doors next month and welcome the local community so they can see the very best of M&S for themselves.

"We’ve got a lot of fantastic characters on our team who bring something unique to our store.

"We always want to offer a brilliant shopping experience and my team and I will be on hand to help shoppers and recommend new products.

"The countdown is well and truly on!"

The Sidcup store has also implemented eco-friendly initiatives, including the installation of fridge doors to cut down on energy consumption and LED lighting on a clock timer.

A team of 54 colleagues, among them being Tom Copsey from Wilmington, who is a professional wrestler known as Alexander Lockheart in his spare time, will welcome customers with the help of Percy Pig on June 19.

M&S Sidcup is located at 124 Station Road DA15 7AB, underneath a new apartment block, Insignis Point, which welcomed its first residents at the end of April.

Tracey Wheelan, Sales Director at The Purelake Group, said: "The Purelake Group are delighted to see the M&S Foodhall opening this summer as part of our Insignis Point development in Sidcup.
