A 63-year-old man has been charged after a GP was stabbed at a practice in Sidcup.
At around 1pm on Thursday (May 23) police were called to Barnard Medical Centre on Granville Road where officers found a GP, a man aged in his 50s, with a knife wound to his arm.
The GP was taken to hospital for treatment where his condition was assessed as not life-threatening.
Gary Bartlett, 63, of Saxon Walk in Sidcup, was arrested and charged with possession of an offensive weapon in a public place and grievous bodily harm with intent.
Court documents allege he was in possession of a large kitchen knife.
Bartlett appeared at Bromley Magistrates’ Court on Saturday (May 25).
He will next appear in court at Woolwich Crown Court in late June.
The GP has since been discharged from hospital.
