A woman has been taken to hospital after a crash in Sidcup.

The incident between a pedestrian and a route R11 bus happened in Main Road at 12.10pm today (May 28).

Officers, London Ambulance Service, and an air ambulance attended and found a woman injured.

She was treated at the scene before being taken to hospital where her condition remains unknown.

The driver of the bus stopped at the scene.

No arrests have been made as police enquires continue.

Main Road remains closed at the junction with Elm Road as the incident is being investigated.

A spokesperson for Metropolitan Police said: “Police were called at 12:10hrs on Tuesday, 28 May to reports of a collision at Elm Road/Main Road, Sidcup.

“Officers, London’s Air Ambulance [HEMS] and London Ambulance Service [LAS] attended.

“At the scene a female pedestrian had been in collision with a route R11 bus.

“The injured woman was taken to hospital. We await an update on her condition.

“The bus stopped at the scene.

“There were no arrests. A scene remains in place.

“Anyone who witnessed this incident or has footage is asked to call police on 101 or

post on X @MetCC quoting 2969/28MAY.”

The full statement from London Ambulance Service says: “We were called at 12.07pm today (28 May) to reports of a road traffic collision at the junction of Main Road and Elm Road, Sidcup.

“We sent resources to the scene, including ambulance crews, a paramedic in a fast response car and an incident response officer. We also dispatched London’s Air Ambulance.

“We treated a woman at the scene before taking her to a major trauma centre.”
