A man has been arrested after a serious crash between a tractor and bus in Gravesend put 12 children and the bus driver in hospital.
The crash occurred on the A227 South Street near Culverstone Green in Meopham shortly before 3.30pm yesterday (May 23).
Officers attended the scene alongside paramedics, an air ambulance and Kent Fire and Rescue Service.
The bus driver and 12 children were taken to the hospital, while four others received treatment from paramedics at the scene.
One child is currently in a London hospital in a serious but stable condition.
Among those transported to local hospitals, three individuals are still receiving care for injuries considered serious.
In the aftermath of the incident, a 33-year-old man from East Sussex was arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving.
He was later bailed to return to the police station, pending further investigation.
The incident is being investigated by Kent Police’s Serious Collision Unit (SCIU).
Kent Police is seeking dashcam and phone footage of the incident and appealed for any witnesses to get in contact.
