Some Southeastern trains have been cancelled due to a landslip in Maidstone East today (Tuesday).

Some late night and early morning trains from Ashford to London Victoria will be diverted via Paddock Wood to allow urgent repairs to be carried out.

Replacement buses will replace the service from Ashford to Swanley.

The following trains will be diverted via Paddock Wood:

12.29am from London Victoria to Ashford International

5.27am from Ashford International to London Victoria

Customers can use their ticket at no extra cost from Maidstone West/Barracks to Strood.

Tickets can also be used on highspeed trains from Strood and Ashford International.

According to National Rail, a landslip happens on the railway when soil, rocks and earth fall on to the track and cover it.

This is often after long periods of heavy rain when the ground become saturated with water.
