Two teenagers have been arrested after a stabbing during a fight between a group in Thamesmead.

A teenage boy was found injured in Central Way near Joyce Dawson Way at around 4pm yesterday (May 20).

Officers and London Ambulance Service crews were called to the scene.

The boy was taken to hospital where his condition was assessed as not life-threatening or life-changing.

Two teenage boys have been arrested in connection with the incident.

An ambulance crew, an incident response officer and London’s Air Ambulance was sent to the scene.

Police enquiries into the circumstances continue.

A spokesperson for Metropolitan Police said: “Police were called at approximately 16:00hrs on Monday, 20 May to reports of a fight involving a group of people in Central Way, SE28.

“Officers and London Ambulance Service attended.

“One male was taken to hospital for treatment to a stab injury; his condition is not life threatening. 

“Two teenage males have been arrested as part of this investigation.

“Enquiries into the circumstances continue.

“Anyone with information is asked to call 101 or ‘X’ @MetCC and quote CAD5286/20May.

“You can also provide information anonymously to the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”

A spokesperson for London Ambulance Service said: “We were called (Monday 20) at 4.08pm to reports of a stabbing in Thamesmead, SE28.

“We sent resources including an ambulance crew, an incident response officer and London’s air ambulance.

“We treated a teenager at the scene and took him to a London major trauma centre.”
