A pub in Crayford is gearing up to welcome football fans back in grand style, with a massive outdoor marquee and a plethora of features aimed at making this year’s Euros unforgettable.
The Crayford Arms’ landlord, James Irving, is thrilled to offer a unique viewing experience for fans for the Men’s 2024 Euros.
James told the News Shopper: “It's not about watching telly inside the pub with loads of people around, being squashed up and not being able to get to the bar or be served.
“It is an outdoor event and ultimately, it's for you, if you'd like to have the best experience watching football.
“You're watching a three-metre LED screen, a professional digital way of watching football – it isn’t just a telly."
He also had the marquee during the Euros 2020 and the World Cup 2022 and hopes to replicate the same energy at the events this year.
James first took over the pub in February 2020, but has been in the industry for almost 14 years.
The Crayford Arms was originally built in 1864 and is now part of a Kent-based brewery named Shepherd Neame.
The pub is set to hire out a huge marquee capable of seating 216 people, complete with authentic German tables to add to the festive atmosphere.
The centrepiece will be a 118-inch (3.5-meter wide) LED screen, ensuring that every detail of the game is visible to all, and the marquee will also feature surround sound.
The venue will also offer an outdoor bar and table service, complete with drinks promotions throughout the month.
James added: "You won’t want to miss what people haven’t stopped raving about for four years.”
The Crayford Arms encourages fans to secure their tickets early, given the high demand from previous years.
Tickets are priced at £12.50 per game, but for those dedicated to catching all three group stage games, a new Season Pass is available for £30, offering a saving of £7.50.
After the group stage, individual match tickets will be sold at £10 each.
UEFA EURO 2024 kicks off in Munich on Friday, June 14 and ends with the final in Berlin on Sunday, July 14.
