A man has died following concerns for welfare at the Dartford Crossing bridge this morning (May 7).
Police were called to the QEII bridge at around 9am after receiving a report about concerns for the welfare of a man.
The man was pronounced dead at the scene.
The bridge was closed before fully reopening at around 11am but delays continued until around midday.
Police have said that the man’s family have been made aware.
A spokesperson for Essex Police said: “Officers were called to the QEII bridge at around 9am this morning (7 May) following a concern for welfare report.
“Emergency services were in attendance and sadly, a man was pronounced dead at the scene.
“His family are aware.
“The bridge has since been re-opened.”
