A man accused of stalking and assaulting a Dartford woman has been charged.
On April 8, the victim filed a police report claiming that the man, known to her, physically assaulted her as she was arriving at work.
She was reportedly followed and verbally abused by the man until she boarded a bus.
The woman informed investigators about on series of phone calls and alleged repeated unwanted contact and had been seen outside her home several times since March 20.
Police executed a search warrant in Dartford and on the morning of April 19, a man was detained in a shed near the victim's home after officers followed enquiries.
The arresting officers also confiscated a small quantity of cocaine.
Neil Letchford, of no fixed address, was later charged with intentional strangulation, stalking, two counts of breaching a restraining order and possession of cocaine.
The 55-year-old appeared before Medway Magistrates’ Court on Saturday 20 April. He was remanded in custody to a hearing at Woolwich Crown Court on Monday 20 May.
