An investigation has been launched after an ambulance car crashed into a set of railings in Abbey Wood.
The car was seen embedded in the metal fencing at the bottom of Bostall Hill yesterday (April 8)
Pictures from the scene yesterday show a police cordon around the wreckage, which is located outside Abbey Wood Funeral Care.
London Ambulance Service was called to the scene to assist at 12.46pm (April 8).
Nobody needed any treatment following the crash.
London Ambulance Service has confirmed that the vehicle was responding to an emergency call and that an internal investigation into the cause of the incident is underway.
A spokesperson for London Ambulance Service said: "We were called at 12.46pm on Monday (April 8) to reports of a London Ambulance Service vehicle being involved in a road traffic collision at the junction of Basildon Road and Bostall Hill, SE2.
“We sent an incident response officer. No patients required treatment as a result of the collision.”
