Two drivers, one in Dartford and one in Sidcup, have been caught driving antisocially on bodycam footage that has been released by Kent Police.

One driver was attempting to race a marked police car, according to officers.

The Ford Focus driver was seen speeding at 56mph in a 30mph zone and ignored a red light around Crayford High Street, just before 3am on April 6.

Officers issued him a Traffic Offence Report for driving without due care.

Earlier that Saturday, at about 2.15am, officers in an unmarked car also noticed a heavily modified Ford Fiesta appearing to race another car on the A20 near Sidcup.

The body cam footage catches the officer explaining that the car was doing 84mph in a national speed limit zone.

The driver was stopped and handed a Section 59 warning.

This means that his vehicle will be seized if he is caught driving antisocially within a year.

He also received a Traffic Offence Report for possessing an illegal exhaust.

Kent Police have been clamping down on antisocial motorists across the county, sending extra patrols to disrupt nuisance car meets and taking enforcement action against those involved in such activities.

Superintendent Nick Sparkes of Kent Police said: “Antisocial motorists can severely impact upon people’s daily lives, whether they are causing a nuisance at unauthorised gatherings or posing a risk to other road users by driving in an irresponsible or dangerous manner.

“We act quickly to disrupt any events that have a negative effect on local communities, and do not hesitate to take action against those who drive their vehicles in an irresponsible manner and put other members of the public in harm’s way.”
