Bexley's bin collections are changing over the Easter bank holiday - and here is everything you need to know.
Bexley Council has shared the amended timetable with residents along with further information about where to dispose of waste.
Normal Service on Good Friday: Collections will continue as usual on Friday, March 29, despite it being a bank holiday.
No Collections on Easter Monday: There will be a pause in waste and recycling collections on Monday, April 1, for Easter Monday, a bank holiday.
Revised Collection Dates: For those with Monday to Friday collection schedules, the following changes apply:
• Monday, April 1: Collections will occur on Tuesday, April 2.
• Tuesday, April 2: Collections will shift to Wednesday, April 3.
• Wednesday, April 3: Waste and recycling will be collected on Thursday, April 4.
• Thursday, April 4: Collections will be on Friday, April 5.
• Friday, April 5: Those with Friday collections will see pickups on Saturday, April 6.
Return to Normal Service: Regular waste and recycling collections are set to resume on Monday, April 8.
Residents are reminded to place their waste and recycling bins at the front edge of their properties the night before collection or by 6 m on the designated day.
Recycling and refuse centres: The Thames Road facility in Crayford and the Maidstone Road Centre in Foots Cray will maintain operating hours from 7.30am to 4pm.
However, note that the Foots Cray centre will be closed on Wednesdays.
Should these centres reach capacity, people are asked to take their recycling home to avoid littering the vicinity, as fly-tipping may result in fines.
