A 12-year-old boy has appeared in court charged with attempted murder in Sittingbourne.
The child was charged after a 15-year-old girl was stabbed at around 3.55pm on Friday, March 22, 2024.
The girl was taken to a London hospital for treatment and officers said on Saturday she remained in hospital in a stable condition.
The boy, who cannot be named due to legal reasons regarding his age, was arrested shortly after the incident.
Following an investigation by Kent Police, the Crown Prosecution Service authorised a charge of attempted murder and possession of an offensive weapon in a public place.
He appeared at Medway Magistrates’ Court yesterday (Monday) where he was remanded to appear at Maidstone Crown Court on Monday, April 22.
