Photos and videos show a crime scene in place after a person died in Hither Green.
Emergency services were called to Manor Park at around 11pm last night (Wednesday, March 20) to reports of an assault.
Ambulance crews and a trauma team by car from London’s Air Ambulance went to the scene.
PC Conway told our reporter at the scene that the incident was “serious” and is being treated as an isolated incident.
Staplehurst Road is currently closed from Manor Park to Chiltonian Mews as police deal with the incident.
Pictures from the scene show the cordon in place, blocking both motorists and pedestrians from the road.
There is also a police car at the top of the road and policemen can be seen on the road.
A London Ambulance Service spokesperson said: “We were called at 11:09 last night (March 20) to reports of an assault on Manor Park, SE13.
“We sent resources to the scene, including ambulance crews, a paramedic in a fast response car, and an incident response officer.
“We also dispatched a trauma team from London’s Air Ambulance by car.
“Sadly, a person was pronounced dead at the scene.”
The News Shopper has contacted the Metropolitan Police for more information.
The 273 bus is currently on diversion in both directions.
