A man has been charged with criminal damage after 37 postboxes were repainted in the Dartford area.
The postboxes were painted a variety of different colours and patterns between Wednesday, January 31 and Saturday, March 9, 2024 – with some repainted multiple times.
Kent Police have said that postboxes were criminally damaged using spray paint.
Officers first arrested a man on February 13 and he was subsequently bailed pending further enquiries.
He was then re-arrested on March 9 after a report of another incident and was held in custody by Kent Police.
Danny Whiskin, of Chaucer Way in Dartford, has now been charged with criminal damage to 37 postboxes.
He will appear at Medway Magistrates Court today, March 11.
A spokesperson for Kent Police said: “A suspect is to appear in court following reports that multiple postboxes were damaged in the Dartford area.
“The incidents, involving the use of spray paint, happened between Wednesday 31 January and Saturday 9 March 2024.
Officers from the Dartford Community Safety Unit initially arrested a man on Tuesday 13 February, and he was subsequently bailed pending further enquiries.
“He was further arrested on Saturday 9 March following a report of another incident.
“Danny Whiskin, of Chaucer Way, Dartford, was later charged by investigators from the North Kent Victim Based Crime Team, with criminal damage to 37 postboxes.
“The 33-year-old was remanded in custody to appear at Medway Magistrates’ Court on Monday 11 March.”
