Estate agents have revealed the most desirable streets to live on in Bromley from people who are looking to purchase a home.
Bromley is a popular borough for Londoners because of its quick commute into central London while also having lots of green space.
It is the largest of London’s 32 London boroughs, so there is a lot of choice when it comes to selecting your ideal street.
Estate Agent Vincent Chandler said that The Palace Estate is a popular choice for those purchasing a home in Bromley.
Specifically, roads such as Palace View, Murray Avenue, Forde Road and Harwood Road.
This area is just a stone’s throw from Bromley South train station and around the corner from a Tesco Superstore.
There are also plenty of shops and restaurants nearby – even a tennis club.
Or “if you really want to spend”, they recommend Garden Road or Edward Road.
These are down the road from Sundridge Station and are primarily bigger, detached houses.
For those into sporting, there are tennis and golf clubs close by and a pub, The Crown, is at the end of Garden Road, just on Plaistow Lane, so that residents can wander over for a pint or two in the evenings.
A spokesperson for the Bromley and Chislehurst branch of Hunters named one street as being their favourite – Holwood Park Avenue.
This is a private, gated street right next to a huge park and lots of local businesses.
Chapter One, which was named in the top 100 of Open Table’s most romantic restaurants, is on the end of Holwood Park Avenue.
There is also a couple of pubs – Ye Olde Whyte Lion and The British Queen – and a big Sainsbury’s.
A representative from Sinclair Hammelton said there are two main patches in Bromley that buyers appear to like.
They said: “People like Bromley Old Town which is tree lined roads and all Victorian/Edwardian properties from cottages, town houses and detached family homes.
“If you took all the cars, street lighting and other factors that have changed little in 100 years.
“Furthermore, it’s a real area of community with several pubs in the vicinity that all the locals frequent, each having their personal favourites, whether it’s the football, a local meal or a good pint.”
The other area is the Palace Estate, also championed by Vincent Chandler Estate Agents, because of its short distance to Bromley North and Bromley South train stations and being in the catchment area for good schools nearby.
