A popular pub in West Wickham has reopened today (Thursday) after a £250,000 investment.
The Swan has undergone a transformative refresh throughout, including a thorough interior uplift, which comprises brand-new, comfy seating booths and additional TV screens.
As well as the interior redecoration, refreshed colour-scheme and updated flooring, the pub also sports a brand-new darts board for any guests wanting to try their hand at some friendly competition.
The exterior of the site has also benefitted from a new-look beer garden, complete with outdoor seating and AstroTurf, so guests can enjoy their favourite tipple in the sunshine.
Alongside it’s relaunch, The Swan will also be introducing a fresh new weekly event agenda for the West Wickham community to be involved in throughout the week.
Guests can join the pub for a host of new activities, such as darts on Mondays, games night Wednesdays, live music every Friday and a team quiz on Sunday.
Every second Thursday of the month, The Swan will also be hosting a jam night, where guests can get in the groove and come along to play their favourite tunes along with the pub’s super-talented house band.
Steeped in history, West Wickham is home to Wickham Court, the 15th century manor house that was once home to the Boleyn family.
It is rumoured to be the site Henry VIII proposed to Anne Boleyn and many believe to this day that the pub had underground tunnels that led to Wickham Court.
Locals are invited to join the pub at its upcoming Grand Launch event tomorrow (March 1) where popular local band, Inside Edge, will be giving a live performance and guests can enjoy music into the evening with friends and family.
Neil Howley, General Manager at The Swan said, “Our team are excited to welcome locals back to The Swan to see the amazing improvements to the pub and of course, enjoy our new weekly events agenda. There’s something for everyone.
“The Swan is a big sports pub and we’re pleased to have refreshed our sports offering both inside the pub and outside through our popular beer garden TV.
“The investment has breathed new life into The Swan and we’re very proud of our new-look pub.”
