Youngsters from a Bexley primary school have become the new national tag rugby champions.
Kent champions Holy Trinity Primary School in Burnt Oak Lane, Sidcup, beat a team from Grange Park Primary School in Winchmore Hill, London, by six tries to three, to take the national championship.
The final was played at the historic ground in The Close at Rugby School, where William Webb Ellis is credited with inventing the game of rugby.
Both teams will now have a rematch at Twickenham, as a curtainraiser to the opening England v Italy match of the Six Nations competition, in February next year.
This year, 24 teams made it to the finals of the Tag to Twickenham competition, after knockout rounds across the country.
Among the top rugby names at the finals day were England and Sale winger Mark Cueto and former England player and now director of rugby at Harlequins, Dean Richards.
