A prolific shoplifter has been jailed after being caught walking down the street with a shopping basket full of share bag sweets.
On January 23, 2024, Ryan Brook, of Cumbrian Avenue in Bexleyheath, stole £82.55 worth of confectionary sweets from a Tesco Express store.
The 34-year-old also assaulted a man by beating him and failed to provide for a drugs test.
He was then charged and remanded to court where he was sentenced to 12 weeks imprisonment.

A spokesperson for MPS Welling said: “Officers were on mobile patrol when a prolific shoplifter was spotted casually walking down the road with a shopping basket filled up with share bag sweets.
“Ryan Brook, 34 arrested, charged and remanded to court where he was sentenced to 12 weeks imprisonment.
“Ryan Brook was also arrested and charged for failing to provide for a drugs test and for an assault on shop staff which took place in January.”
