A FUN day was held to raise money for orphaned children in Zimbabwe.

On the day around 450 people turned up throughout the afternoon at St Mary's Church in College Road, Bromley.

The centrepiece of the afternoon was a concert given by Tau Wey, piano teacher at Sevenoaks School.

Organiser Peter Fall said: "Although this was free, the collection raised over £200."

Other activities included a coconut shy, china breaking, plants, book stalls, toys and a prize stall of furry animals.

The whole afternoon had an animal theme, with face painting producing tigers, and youngsters fishing for plastic ducks.

Refreshments were served in the church porch.

Around £1280 was raised for the Just Children Foundation which supports homes for orphaned children in Zimbabwe.
