A man has died after collapsing at a Sainsbury's store in Abbey Wood.
Emergency services were called to the shop in Chantry Close shortly before 5pm yesterday (Monday, February 26).
A man, aged in his 30s, was pronounced dead at the scene.
His next of kin have been notified.
The death is being treated by police as unexpected but is not thought to be suspicious.
Police have said a file will be prepared for the Coroner.
A spokesperson for the Metropolitan Police said: “Police were called at 16:48hrs on Monday, 26 February to reports of a man collapsed at a store in Chantry Close, SE2.
“Officers and London Ambulance Service attended.
“A man, aged 30s, was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.
“His next of kin have been notified.
“The death is being treated as unexpected, but is not thought to be suspicious.
“A file will be prepared for the Coroner.”
A London Ambulance Service spokesperson said: “We were called at 4:27pm yesterday (26 February) to reports of an incident at Sainsbury’s, Abbey Wood.
“We sent resources to the scene, including an ambulance crew, a medic in a fast response car, an advanced paramedic and an incident response officer.
“Sadly, despite the best efforts of our crews, a person was pronounced dead at the scene.”
