A RESIDENTIAL and nursing home in Chislehurst has received a royal visit to mark its 40th anniversary.
His Royal Highness, The Duke of Kent met and chatted with residents and members of staff at the Prince George Duke of Kent Court, Shepherd's Green, Chislehurst.
The home is run by the Royal Masonic Benevolent Institution charity.
The Duke, who opened the home 40 years ago, stayed for a celebratory lunch where he was joined by the RMBI chief executive, David Innes, the mayor of Bromley, Councillor Denise Reddin and the deputy lieutenant of Bromley, Colonel Robert Murfin.
After lunch the Duke unveiled a plaque commemorating his second visit to the home.
The home's manager, Toni Turner, said: "The residents really enjoyed the day and felt really honoured that the Duke was able to share the home's 40th birthday with them."
