CUSTOMERS and staff at a pub are celebrating after playing their part in creating a new world record.
The Paper Moon in Dartford High Street took part in a synchronised wine tasting with 680 fellow JD Wetherspoon pubs across the UK.
They aimed to beat the record for the most people tasting wine at the same time, which was set by 5,100 people in Spain in 2006.
JD Wetherspoon made the attempt on May 21 and on July 24 Guinness World Records announced the 17,540 people who took part had set a new record.
The Paper Moon co-manager Kelly Smith said: "Customers at The Paper Moon joined in enthusiastically with the world record attempt and I am delighted it has been broken."
JD Wetherspoon owns 697 pubs across the UK, including The Robert Pocock in Windmill Street, Gravesend.
