STUDENTS have written a book looking at the history of their school as it prepares to merge with another.
The Sweyne Junior School, Keary Road, Swanscombe, will amalgamate with Swanscombe Infant School to become Manor Community Primary School in September.
Pupils and their families worked with The Sweyne's family support co-ordinator Michelle Rothwell to write a book covering its 37-year history.
She said: "Evolution of The Sweyne is an excellent book. Past and present staff and pupils will enjoy reading it."
Work on the 40-page book began in March and an official launch event was held at Swanscombe Library, in Church Road.
Free copies were given to people attending the launch. The book is on sale at The Sweyne for £5.
Proceeds from the book will go to the new school, which will be based in the two schools' current premises.
