Police have charged a suspect after allegations of indecent exposure on Deptford High Street.
Members of the public flagged down patrolling officers, reporting an incident of indecent exposure.
The victim was able to identify the suspect, leading to an arrest by the police.
The man has since been charged and remanded in custody.
Section 4A of the Public Order Act 1994 is the offence of causing intentional harassment, alarm or distress.
It is a public order offence, meaning an offence that involves violence or intimidation to a member of the public.
The Metropolitan Police Service highlighted this case as part of their ongoing commitment to tackling issues related to Violence Against Women and Girls (VAWG).
A spokesperson for New Cross Policing Team wrote on X (Formerly Twitter) said: “@MPSNewCross “Deptford & @MPSBrockley “Officers were flagged down on #Deptford High Street regarding an allegation of indecent exposure & S4a Public Order.
“The victim identified the suspect, resulting in a swift arrest, where he has been charged & remanded #Police #VAWG.”
