A Post Office in New Cross has reopened in a new location with longer working hours.

On Wednesday, February 21, Lewisham Way Post Office re-opened at a new location: Osborn Pharmacy, located on 179-181 Lewisham Way.

This has restored Post Office services to the area after the temporary closure of the branch at 150 Lewisham Way SE14 6PD, in April 2022.

With over 11,500 branches, Post Office has the biggest retail network in the UK, with more branches than all the banks and building societies combined.

99.7 per cent of the population live within three miles of a Post Office; and 4,000 branches are open seven days a week.

The all-new New Cross Post Office opening hours are Monday - Friday: 9am – 6pm; Saturday: 9am – 2pm.

This provides 50 hours of Post Office service a week.

This is an extra 20 hours and 30 minutes of service than previously provided, including earlier opening and later closing.

Noah Rai, Post Office network provision lead, said: “We are delighted to have restored a Post Office to this area as we know how important a Post Office is to a community.

“The branch’s opening hours will make it convenient for customers to visit.”
