A TAXI driver was robbed at knife point in Swanley by a man who escaped in a waiting car.
The suspect threatened the driver with a knife and stole around £80 in Church View, off Lime Road at around 10.20pm, on last Thursday (July 24).
The taxi driver picked up the suspect in a green Renault from Swanley Railway Station and drove along St Mary's Road and Hart Dyke Road before he was asked to stop in Church View.
The suspect - described as thin, in his early 20s with medium-length, mousey-brown hair - threatened the driver with a knife and stole around £80.
The man - who was wearing a white shirt and blue jeans - then ran to a dark-coloured mid-sized car parked nearby.
The car - in which a woman with shoulder length, brown hair and a young bare-chested teenager were sitting - then drove off.
Investigating officer Detective Constable Denis Fogel, said: "This is a nasty incident and we are keen to hear from anyone that may have seen anything suspicious in the area.
"I'd also like to urge taxi drivers to be extra vigilant to potentially threatening situations."
Detectives are currently carrying out house-to-house enquiries and checking CCTV footage.
