We tested five of Bexleyheath’s most popular pubs to investigate the usage of cocaine in our area- and were left shocked by the results.
Our investigation into finding the class A drug began in Bexleyheath Broadway at the Furze Wren Wetherspoons, followed by the Wrong Un Wetherspoons, then a short walk away to the Golden Lion, and to the Red Barn and finishing at the William Camden.
We used wipes ordered on the internet which are pink, come individually packaged and once used to wipe a surface, they turn blue if there is a presumptive presence of cocaine.
We conducted our tests in the toilet cubicles of each pub by wiping down toilet paper dispensers, toilet lids, and handles.
Out of the five pubs, we detected cocaine at two venues - the Furze Wren and the Wrong Un - both in Bexleyheath Broadway.
Here is how our investigation unfolded:
The Furze Wren, Wetherspoons in Bexleyheath:
Address: 6 Market Place, Bexleyheath, DA6 7DY
Our investigation found cocaine on two individual toilet paper dispensers at the four-star rated TripAdvisor pub.
The once pink cocaine wipe quickly turned blue which detected the presence of cocaine in the cubicles.
We also wiped the areas of toilet flush handles and toilet lids, however, these showed no indication of cocaine.
The Wrong Un, Wetherspoons in Bexleyheath:
Address: 234-236 Broadway, Bexleyheath, DA6 8AS
We walked to the back of the four-star rated TripAdvisor pub to conduct our investigation in two toilet cubicles.
Using the same method as we did at the Furze Wren, we wiped the toilet paper dispensers which found traces of cocaine.
We also wiped toilet lids but no cocaine was found.
The Golden Lion, Bexleyheath, Broadway:
Address: 258 Broadway, Bexleyheath, DA6 8BE
A short distance away from the Wrong Un, we walked down to the four star rated TripAdvisor pub.
As there was no toilet paper dispenser at the pub, we wiped down two toilet lids to conduct our investigation.
However, there were no traces of cocaine found on the wipes.
William Camden, Bexleyheath:
Address: Avenue Road, Bexleyheath DA7 4EQ
We visited this popular pub in Avenue Road which is rated four stars on TripAdvisor.
As we made our way into the toilets, we carried out the same procedure as the other pubs.
However, there were also no traces of cocaine at the William Camden.
The Red Barn, Bexleyheath:
Address: Barnehurst Road, Bexleyheath DA7 6HG
To finalise our research, we visited the most popular pub on our list which is rated 4.5 stars on TripAdvisor.
As we made our way into the toilets, we carried out the same method during our investigation.
However, there were also no traces of cocaine found at the Red Barn.
