RESIDENTS of different ages met up for a special project designed to close the generation gap.
The John Roan School in Maze Hill, Blackheath, teamed up with Greenwich Council to organise a series of school visits to elderly residents in sheltered accommodation.
Youngsters visited pensioners in Collerston House in Armitage Road, Greenwich, and Hider Court in Hervey Road, Charlton.
They also met up with residents in Blackheath at Langton House in Langton Way, and Minnie Bennett House in Shooters Hill Road.
Students and elderly residents chatted to each other about their ideals, views and life experiences in a question and answer session. This was followed by a friendly chat over tea and biscuits.
Council cabinet member for adult and older people's services, Councillor Angela Cornforth, said: "Many people, children and adults alike, have little opportunity to interact with those raised in a different era to them.
"We hope that these visits will help foster appreciation across generations."
