ROTARIANS are appealing for donations to support a project to provide a water well for an African town.
Naivasha in Kenya, with a population of 14,000, does not have piped water.
There is high unemployment and a refugee camp in the market town with residents needing to travel up to five miles to fetch water.
Bromley Rotary Club is supporting the Orpington-based charity Footsteps International which is hoping to build the well.
Club spokesman Peter Halligan said: "In many parts of the world access for people to safe, clean drinking water is all but a dream.
"Bromley Rotarians want to make that dream a reality for a community in Kenya."
To make a donation to the appeal send it to Ivan Chapman, 14 Poyntell Crescent, Chislehurst, Kent, BR7 6PJ.
