A HEALTHCARE watchdog report has rated mental health care in south-east London as good - putting it among the best in the country.
The latest Healthcare Commission survey looked at the quality of the NHS acute inpatient mental health services across the country.
Oxleas NHS Mental Health Trust was given an overall score of three, which put it among the 20 trusts nationwide to receive a "good" rating.
The trust provides mental health and learning disability services for people living in the boroughs of Lewisham, Greenwich, Bromley and Bexley.
A breakdown of the results showed the trust is rated the second best in London and the south east.
Commission chief executive Anna Walker said: "We have thrown an intense spotlight on these services in a way which has never been done before.
"It is clear it is possible to provide patients with excellent acute hospital care and some organisations are doing exactly that."
