KEEN football players have turned out to play in a tournament in memory of an 11-year-old boy who died from a brain tumour.
It is the second year the family of Karl Lewis, from Springhead Road, Erith, have organised the tournament in aid of charity the Ellenor Foundation, which cared for Karl before his death in 2006.
This year 18 teams took part in the event, held at the Goals Soccer Centre in Graham Road, Bexleyheath.
Karl's family put up its own team, Karl's Krocks and others taking part included teams from the Running Horses pub, Erith; Erith leisure centre; Morrisons, Erith; Fairfield Leisure Centre, Dartford; builders merchant Selco, Charlton; red watch at Dartford fire station and Charlton Athletic veterans.
Last year's winners Abbey United defended their title, beating You'll Never Walk Alone 2-1 in the final.
Bexley mayor Councillor Nick O'Hare presented the trophies and there was also a barbecue, children's activities and a raffle.
The event raised £1,900 to add to more than £1,000 raised this year by the family through other events.
