People have been left baffled by a giant bottle floating on the River Thames today in Woolwich – with some mistaking it for Tippex.
The large white bottle, which turned out to be a The Ordinary skincare advert, was seen being pulled along by a boat near the Thames Barrier earlier today (February 13).
The Ordinary is a skincare brand which describes itself as “an evolving collection of skin treatments offering familiar, effective clinical technologies positioned to raise pricing and communication integrity in skincare”.
@AcademyAnn shared an image of the bottle on X (Formerly known as Twitter) along with the caption: “And then a bottle of ....well not sure what....went by.
“I thought it was Tippex (showing my age) but actually a promo for @theOrdinary.
“The Thames keeping us entertained at #Woolwich.”
An account on X (Formerly known as Twitter) named @AlanBarrierEA who’s an Environment Agency flood forecaster is did not hold back on the puns when he spotted the odd bit of advertising.
His tweet reads: “Today’s view from the office window.
“A large bottle of The Ordinary moisturising cream has just passed through the #ThamesBarrier, heading towards central #London.
“Their range includes ‘Barrier Support’, but alas no freebies for today’s closure team.”
