NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the London Borough of Bromley proposes to make the above-mentioned Orders under Sections 6, 45, 46, 47, 49, 124 and Part IV of Schedule 9 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended by Section 8 of and Part 1 of Schedule 5 to the Local Government Act 1985, the Traffic Management Act 2004 and all other enabling powers.
The effect of the Orders would be to:-
a) change of use of one existing disabled bay outside Nos. 148 & 150/152 High Street, Beckenham to a Pay & Display bay as an extension of existing Pay & Display bays;
b) change of use of existing disabled bay and meter parking bays outside Nos. 118 to 126 High Street, Beckenham to Pay & Display bays as specified in the Schedule to this notice;
c) change of use of existing meter parking bays outside Nos. 117 to 121 High Street, Beckenham to disabled bays as specified in the Schedule to this notice;
d) change of use of existing meter parking bays and disabled bay outside Nos. 157 & 159 High Street, Beckenham to Pay & Display bays as specified in the Schedule to this notice;
e) removal of one Pay & Display bay outside Nos. 254/256 High Street, Beckenham;
f) change of use of existing disabled bay outside No. 224 High Street, Beckenham and extend to introduce a Loading bay as specified in the Schedule to this notice;
g) change of use of existing meter parking bays in The Drive, Beckenham to a Loading bay as specified in the Schedule to this notice;
h) change of use of existing disabled bay in Fairfield Road, Beckenham and extend to introduce a Loading bay as specified in the Schedule to this notice
Details of prohibitions and exemptions for certain vehicles and persons are contained in the original Orders.
A copy of the proposed orders, of the plans of the scheme and of the Council's statement of reasons for proposing to make the Orders can be inspected during normal office hours on Mondays to Fridays at the Bromley Civic Centre, Stockwell Close, Bromley, Kent.
ANY person wishing to object to the proposed Orders should send a statement in writing of their objection and the grounds thereof to the Director of Environment and Leisure Services, Civic Centre, Stockwell Close, Bromley, BR1 3UH, quoting reference ADE(TP)/RP/T100/496 not later than 20th August 2008.
Persons objecting to the proposed orders should be aware that under the provisions of the Local Government (Access to Information) Act 1985, any comments received in response to this Notice may be open to public inspection.
Schedule:-
PARKING PLACES
Pay and Display parking between 8.30am and 6.30pm on Mondays to Saturdays inclusive, except Public Holidays and Bank Holidays. 50p per hour. 2 hour maximum stay.
HIGH STREET, Beckenham, the north side, from a point 1m west of the party wall of Nos. 116 & 118/120 westwards for a distance of 16m. (3 parking spaces)
HIGH STREET, Beckenham, the south side, from a point 3m east of the party wall of Nos. 161 & 163 eastwards for a distance of 17m. (3 parking spaces)
DISABLED PARKING BAYS
Disabled Parking Bay - at any time - Maximum stay three hours:-
HIGH STREET, Beckenham, the east side, outside Nos. 117 to 121. (2 parking spaces)
LOADING BAYS
Loading Bay - 8am - 6.30pm on Mondays to Saturdays inclusive - 1 hour maximum waiting time. No return within 2 hours. - Goods Vehicles only:-
FAIRFIELD ROAD, Beckenham, the west side, from a point 17m south of its junction with High Street northwards for a distance of 8m.
HIGH STREET, Beckenham, the north side, from a point 1.5m west of the party wall of Nos. 222 & 224 westwards for a distance of 8m.
THE DRIVE, Beckenham, the east side, from a point 13m south of the southern boundary of No. 2 southwards for a distance of 10m.
