A COMMUNITY centre aimed at helping young people "achieve their potential" has been officially opened.
The Harvey Centre at Swanley Technology College, in St Mary's Road, provides services to children from the college and the surrounding area.
It has been operating for three months and was officially opened by Kent County Council's managing director for children, families and education, Graham Badman.
He said: "I was delighted to be invited to open the Harvey Centre, which brings together a range of activities and support services which can do so much to help children achieve their potential and play a full part in their community."
Young people can attend the centre for one-to-one appointments and drop-in sessions with counsellors.
They can also get careers advice and help with homework and talk to the police and a school nurse there.
