AN OPTICIANS has raised more than £440 to help fund research into diabetes and support sufferers.
For every eye examination it carried out last month, Specsavers in Bromley High Street donated 50p to charity Diabetes UK.
Store director Andrew Jones said: "We are delighted to be able to donate money to this extremely worthwhile cause.
"Every five minutes in the UK someone is diagnosed with diabetes, which is the leading cause of blindness in our working-age population."
There are currently 2.3 million people in the UK diagnosed with diabetes.
