FOLLOWING our 58th Birthday celebrations in June, we enjoyed a visit by Mr Strover at our July meeting, speaking about musical instruments.
He explained such instruments produce sound by either hitting, blowing or scraping and gave a practical demonstration of this on many unusual instruments from around the world.
These included a gourd piano, clay pipes, ocarinas, animal horns and bones, a finger harp, a Thai two-string fiddle, a medieval psaltery and a plastic tube.
A ploughman's lunch is planned for August 8 and a River Thames trip to Hampton Court is being arranged for August 28.
