MEMBERS from Orpington Video and Film Makers recently travelled to Tunisia to attend UNICA, an international film festival under the auspices of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization.
A programme of British films competed against national programmes from 30 other countries and, despite only entering three films, In the National Interest from Reading won one of only five gold medals awarded, and Heatwave from Nuneaton gained a silver.
Around 300 delegates meet every year in a different country to enjoy watching the best non-professional films, going on outings, having fun and meeting up with old friends who share the same hobby.
Next year's festival will be held in Gdansk, Poland.
Orpington Video and Film Makers meet on alternate Tuesdays in the Barnard Room of St Augustine's Church, Southborough Lane, Petts Wood.
