A prisoner is set to face trial accused of murderering a fellow inmate at HMP Thameside.
Roland Viaroade, 22, is accused of killing 29-year-old Quang Hguyen at the category B prison in Thamesmead.
Metropolitan Police previously said officers were called to the prison at just after midday on February 7, 2023, after “reports of an unresponsive male” and suspicions of an “altercation” the night before.
On Monday (January 29, 2024) a hearing at Woolwich Crown Court was told that Viaroade has not yet been asked to enter pleas.
However, a trial date has been fixed for September this year.
