A man has been charged with attempted murder after a woman was stabbed in Bexley.
Police were called to Penhill Road just after 4pm on Tuesday, January 16 to reports that a woman had been stabbed.
The victim, believed to be in her 30s, remains in a critical condition as of Monday (January 22).
Tony Curant, 33, who lives on the road where the incident took place, has been charged with attempted murder.
He will appear at Bromley Magistrates’ Court on Monday.
Inspector Graham Rickard, from the policing team for south east London, said: “We arrived at the scene within three minutes of the initial report and provided first aid to the victim until paramedics arrived.
"Sadly, she is very seriously injured and has been taken to hospital in a critical condition."
Inspector Rickard previously said it was believed that the woman and her alleged attacker were known to each other.
No details had previously been released regarding an arrest in connection with this case, but the Metropolitan Police confirmed to the News Shopper this morning that a man has now been charged with attempted murder.
