A woman is fighting for her life following a stabbing in Bexley.
Police were first called to Penhill Road at 4.07pm on January 16.
Inspector Graham Rickard confirmed officers arrived within "three minutes of the initial report" and provided first aid.
He added: "Sadly she is very seriously injured and has been taken to hospital in a critical condition."
They believe the suspect is known to the victim, who is in her 30s.
Inquiries continue with no arrests made.
The road is currently closed in both directions and police remain on scene.

Inspector Graham Rickard, from the policing team for south east London, said: “We arrived at the scene within three minutes of the initial report and provided first aid to the victim until paramedics arrived.
"Sadly she is very seriously injured and has been taken to hospital in a critical condition.
"At this very early stage we believe the suspect is known to her.
"Officers remain at the scene and in the area carrying out a number of inquiries.”
