Throughout the month of February, we’re telling the story of the 21 teenagers who were murdered in 2023. Our campaign, The 21, seeks to remember every victim as a young person with a family and their whole life ahead of them. We want to change the culture of kids carrying knives and becoming involved in violence.
This is the face of Leonardo Reid, a 15-year-old boy, who was stabbed to death in Islington in 2023.

Here is a timeline of events and everything we know so far about his death:
Thursday, June 29:
Police were called to Elthorne Road to reports of a stabbing at around 11.30pm on June 29.
Leonardo Reid was found injured and pronounced dead at the scene shortly after midnight.
Klevi Shekaj was also suffering from stab wounds and was rushed to a west London hospital where he later died.
A post-mortem examination gave a provisional cause of death for both victims as a stab wound to the chest.
A third victim, believed to be aged 28, was also found in the area with a stab wound.
He was taken to a north London hospital where his condition was assessed as not life threatening.
It is alleged that a group of masked attackers carrying zombie knives arrived at the scene of a music video shoot.
Saturday, July 1:
A 46-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of murder and attempted murder.
He was taken to a north London police station but subsequently released with no further action taken.
Monday, July 3:
A 27-year-old man and a 17-year-old boy were arrested on suspicion of murder and attempted murder.
Wednesday, July 5:
Abel Chunda, 27, of Highgate Hill, was charged with two counts of murder, one count of attempted murder, and possession of an offensive weapon.
He appeared at Highbury Corner Magistrates' Court.
Friday, July 7:
Jason Furtardo, 26, of Halton Road, Canonbury, was charged with two counts of murder, attempted murder and possession of an offensive weapon.
He appeared in custody at Willesden Magistrates’ Court.
Tuesday, July 18:
Eden Clark, 29, was arrested and charged at the Old Bailey with attempted murder and possession of a zombie knife.
Mr Clark, of no fixed address, appeared at the hearing by video link.
A plea hearing was set for September 22.
Tuesday, December 12:
An arrest warrant was issued by police for 40-year-old Lorik Lupqi of St John’s Way, Islington, over the killings.
He remains outstanding.
