Police were unable to find anyone “fitting the description” of a man who raised welfare concerns near a lake in Dartford.
Officers were called to Brooklands Lake at around 1.40pm today (January 10).
Kent Police and Kent Fire and Rescue attended the scene and carried out a thorough search of the lake.
Nobody fitting the description of the man was found and no further reports were made to police.
Princes Road was partially cordoned off by police officers in pictures.
Two fire engines and the water safety unit were also sent to the area.
A spokesperson for Kent Police said: “Kent Police was called at around 1.40pm on Wednesday 10 January 2024 due to concern for a man reported to have been in the water at Brooklands Lake, Dartford.
“Officers attended and carried out a thorough search of the lakes and surrounding area with assistance from Kent Fire and Rescue Service.
“Nobody fitting the description of the man was located and no further reports were received.”
A spokesperson for Kent Fire and Rescue Service said: “We were called at 1.47pm today to assist Kent Police in the Brooklands Lake area of Dartford, off Princes Road, due to concerns for a man’s welfare.
“Two fire engines and the water safety unit attended.”
