A flood alert has been issued in Dartford after Storm Henk brought heavy rainfall to the UK, which has caused chaos this week.
Where is it?
A flood alert has been issued by the Environment Agency for the River Darent, stretching from Dartford to Westerham, including Brasted, Sundridge, Chipstead, Dunton Green, Otford, Eynsford and South Darenth.
According to the Environment Agency, river levels remain high, but are beginning to fall on the River Darent near Westerham and Otford.
River levels are forecast to rise on the River Darent near Hawley as water flows downstream, staying high throughout today (January 5) and tomorrow (January 6).
This follows yesterday's heavy rainfall, as a yellow weather warning was issued for large parts of south England for rain in the aftermath of Storm Henk.
The warning was in place until 3am this morning, with warnings of potential flooding due to rain falling on saturated ground from earlier rainfall this week.
The Environment Agency has advised that no flooding of properties is expected, although there is a risk of flooding of roads and low-lying lands until today at 5pm.
What to do?
People are being advised to avoid using low lying footpaths and bridges near watercourses while the alert is in place.
People are also being advised to not walk or drive through flood water should flooding occur.
