Two men are fighting for their lives after a stabbing in Erith this afternoon.

Police and ambulance crews were called to an incident on Alexandra Road at 1.12pm today (January 3).

The two injured – believed to be men aged in their 30s – were treated at the scene and taken to hospital.

London Ambulance Service crews and an air ambulance were called to the scene.

Two ambulance crews and an advanced paramedic also attended.

No arrests have been made at this time, but urgent enquiries are taking place to find the suspect(s).

A crime scene is still in place and officers remain in the area.

A spokesperson for the Metropolitan Police said: “Two people are in a life threatening condition following an incident in Alexandra Road, Erith on Wednesday, 3 January.

“Police were called to the scene at 13.12hrs alongside medics from LAS.

“Those injured – believed to be men aged in their 30s – were treated at the scene and taken to hospital.

“No arrests have been made at this time, but urgent enquiries are taking place to locate the suspect[s].

“The scene will remain in place and officers will be in the area.

A spokesperson London Ambulance Service said: “We were called today (3 January) at 1:08pm to reports of a stabbing on Alexandra Road, Erith.

“We sent a number of resources to the scene, including two ambulance crews and an advanced paramedic.

"We also dispatched a trauma team from London’s Air Ambulance.

“We treated two people at the scene before taking them to a major trauma centre.”
