Bin collections in Bromley will operate on an altered timetable during this year’s holiday period.
Residents of the borough can use a calendar on the council’s website to check the revised dates for collection.
The altered dates are scheduled to last for three weeks, starting from December 25.
Collections scheduled between this date and December 28 will be collected two days later, as well as collections between January 1 and January 4.
This means that if your collection is scheduled for December 27, it will be collected on December 29 instead.
Collections originally planned for December 29 will instead be collected on January 2.
As well as this, bin collections scheduled for January 5 will be picked up on January 8.
Those expecting bin collections from between January 8 and January 12 are asked to leave out their rubbish one day later than planned.
Waste collections are expected to return to normal on January 15.
The council said that those subscribed to the green garden waste collection service can expect this waste to be picked up on their usual collection day.
This service can also be used to recycle real Christmas trees.
Real Christmas trees and other garden waste can also be recycled at several temporary green garden waste sites across the borough.
Three sites will be open on January 6 from 11am to 4pm. These include Norman Park on Hook Farm Road in Bromley, Salt Depot on Shire Lane Spur off Sevenoaks Road in Green Street Green, and Cotmandene Crescent car park in St Paul’s Cray.
Two sites will be open on January 7 from 8am to midday.
These are Charles Darwin School on Jail Lane in Biggin Hill and the Unicorn Primary School car park off South Eden Park Road in Beckenham.
Residents are asked to remove all decorations from their trees before taking them to the site. Those leaving trees and garden waste at the sites outside of the operating hours may be prosecuted for fly-tipping.
Trees can also be recycled at the recycling centres on Waldo Road and Churchfields. Residents are asked to note that the centres will be closed on December 25, 26 and January 1 and to also bring their waste disposal permit.
The revised collection dates over the Christmas and New Year period can be checked on the council website.
