A teen who was caught with a huge Rambo knife at Dartford station has been jailed.
Rackeem Thomas, 18, was sentenced to six months in prison on Tuesday (December 19), just 24 hours after he was caught with the weapon.
On Monday (December 18) Thomas was stopped for a ticket check at Dartford station.
He failed to provide a ticket and the revenue inspector became suspicious of his nervous behaviour.
Thomas also gave officers a fake name.
He was detained but as officers prepared to search him he tried to run away.
With the help of rail staff he was tackled to the floor.
Whilst on the floor Thomas tried to withdraw the concealed Rambo knife which was in his waistband.
Thomas appeared at Medway Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday where he was sentenced to six months in jail and told to pay a !54 victim surcharge and £85 for forfeiture and destruction of the weapon.
Investigating Officer Alex Morgan said: "Thomas is clearly a dangerous individual, and I am extremely pleased to see him sentenced to 6 months imprisonment less than 24 hours after officers found him committing the offence.
"It is incredibly rewarding to get a violent individual and horrendous knife off the rail network, and I hope this sends a clear signal to offenders that anyone caught in possession of these dangerous weapons in public will be brought to justice."
