An all-new climbing gym, Rhino Boulder, is set to open its doors in Bromley next weekend.
Rhino Boulder derives its name from the iconic boulder in South African Rocklands and was founded by climbers and friends Henning and Thomas.
The idea originated when Thomas and Henning were enjoying a beer and discussing their dreams of opening a climbing wall.
After three years of searching for the right location, the pair opened the gym in The Mall in Bromley, and wanted to ensure it was easily accessible for members of the public.
Rhino Boulder will be opening its doors to the public on Saturday, December 16 and promises to be a “haven for climbers, fitness enthusiasts, and community engagement”.
Henning said: “We wanted to craft a space that's not just a gym but also a community hub.
“Rhino Boulder embodies that vision.”
Thomas says the gym is to “create a place where people can climb, stay fit, and forge connections with like-minded individuals”.
He added: “The journey to make this dream a reality was a labour of love and dedication.”
From managing refurbishments to curating the space's ambiance, Henning and Thomas are playing multifaceted roles, ensuring every aspect reflects their vision of a warm and welcoming climbing haven.
The heart of Rhino Boulder, the climbing wall, took form through the collaboration with Renegade Climbing.
Henning explained: “A bunch of climbing enthusiasts that master the art of creating inspiring and flawless climbing walls”.
Both Thomas and Henning say they have received encouraging messages and overwhelming interest with Rhino Boulder, and the team behind the gym are ready to provide an “unparalleled experience”.
Thomas and Henning said: "We can't wait to open our doors and welcome the community.
“Rhino Boulder is for everyone to enjoy, make friends, and discover the thrill of climbing."
Rhino Boulder will be open to all ages (from 4-years-old) and all abilities, from novices looking for a course to experienced climbers wanting to climb independently.
It will boast a fully stocked café and a dedicated training area including a program for aspiring athletes.
